Christmas

As Jared and I start our new life together, we (meaning Hannah) decided to create a blog to keep family and friends up-to-date on all of the exciting events that take place..

First things first,
Jared surprised me in Pennsylvania this past week!
I got home on Friday night from Tampa, and my brother-in-law picked me up from the airport. We were hanging around, waiting for what I thought was my sister Amanda's boyfriend, Mike, but after 15 minutes of waiting, I spotted Jared across the baggage claim carousel. It was such a HUGE surprise, and despite my suspicions, I really didn't think I was going to see Jared the whole month of December. It was GREAT!

The next day was a big day for us! I had lots of family visiting for the wonderful bridal shower that my sisters threw me. They did such a nice job! They had it at this cute little restaurant near my house and we had a delicious lunch amidst the games and present-opening. It was GREAT and Jared and I have the start of a new house. We are very excited and thankful for the generosity of all my friends and family.

We also had a huge snowstorm right after my bridal shower. Fortunately, we didn't have much planned for the rest of the weekend so being snowed in wasn't too bad. We spent lots of time playing games, eating, and relaxing with my family and it was lots of fun. After the snow stopped, we played out in the snow with my siblings which was GREAT. We had a faux Christmas at some point as well, so that my family could exchange presents with all of my grandparents and Jared. My mom and dad bought me and Jared a camera so that we can take pictures of all of the fun things we have planned in the near future. It's a very sweet gift.

They also bought us bus tickets to New York! On Monday, Jared and I left for the big city. Jared had never been so it was very exciting for him. I showed him around Time Square, we had a nice lunch in Little Italy at this GREAT restaurant, we walked around Central Park, got to see the New York City temple, and then ended our day in Rockefellar Center. We got to see the big Christmas tree as well as the ice skating rink. We were going to go ice skating, but the line was WAY too long, plus we were VERY cold. We decided to just go check out the window display on Fifth Avenue and look at St. Patrick's cathedral. All in all, it was a great day. We had an awesome time!

Jared left to spend Christmas with his family, so once again we are separated, but hopefully not for too much longer. We wish all of our friends and family a very Merry Christmas!
